Tekmar Group has won a £3 million deal to supply cable protection to a Middle East offshore energy project

The apparatus – for a “leading global oilfield services provider” – will be delivered next year.

Bosses say the order marks the “largest polyurethane cable protection contract to date” with the customer, adding it reflects the buyer’s “growing trust and confidence” in the County Durham - headquartered firm.

The deal comes after the company, which operates from Aycliffe Business Park, secured a £2 million Middle East deal to design and make reinforced concrete support structures for a gas pipeline.
