Manufacturing companies in the North East are confident of economic growth following July’s General Election but want the new Government to commit to a UK industrial strategy, a new report says.
A poll of manufacturing companies by industry body Make UK and business advisory firm BDO suggests that 58% of manufacturing firms polled in the region believe that the recent change in Government will lead to better economic growth overall in the next 12 months. Companies also reported that total orders are also set to increase in the next three months while many are looking to take on new staff.
