Considered the pinnacle business event representing hairdressing's entrepreneurs and success stories, these awards spotlight those who are making waves in the hairdressing industry, changing the game for everyone involved.

Novo Cabelo, who are preparing to open a new Head Office on Church Street Retail Park, Murton next month are one of the UKs fastest growing Hair System companies and the team are making history and quite literally changing lives and disrupting the hair industry with their innovative, non-invasive approach to hair systems.

Following a transformative and targeted relaunch campaign last year the company has seen a substantial growth trajectory for the heavily rooted North East brand, with a 50% increase in revenue, alongside high growth across their social media platforms, international expansion and collaborations with key industry players.

Novo Cabelo reached the finals in the HJ's British Hairdressing Business Awards 2024 after submitting attention-grabbing entries, detailing the skills and experience that have contributed to the company’s success to date. Thewinners will be revealed at the 25th British Hairdressing Business Awards, set to take place on Monday, 1st July 2024, at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

Rob Wood, Founder and Director, Novo Cabelo said:

“As a previous Finalist in 2023 and 2022 for Social Stylist of the Year, we are delighted to have our work and commitment to the industry recognised at the highest level once more, and to be in two categories and seeing our strategic marketing efforts recognised is fantastic news.

To be in the category of some extraordinary industry leaders really does propel us on our mission and to keep driving the awareness of our innovative hair system techniques in the industry.”

Novo Cabelo now has 52 salon partners and nearly 100 trained stylists across the UK trained as Novo Pros. With over 41 million TikTok views for the emotional and game-changing non-surgical hair systems, Novo Cabelo have created a strong emotional and authentic connection with followers across their social media platforms with their TikTok live hair system reveals hitting 2.6 million likes (and counting).

Claire Pickersgill, PR & Marketing Director, Novo Cabelo and Owner at Sunderland based House of Hype & Co. said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be a finalist for Marketing Campaign of the Year in such a prestigious industry award, and to be in the same category as Toni & Guy really is a pinch me moment! The passion and ethos behind the brand is immense and the team are on a mission to change perceptions and are in turn making history.

After working on the intensive marketing relaunch campaign for the company last year, it’s fantastic to wear my ‘in-house hat’ and continue to work alongside the team to support in driving the brand and its reputation to even greater heights, with all eyes on further international expansion. Consistency is key and working side by side with the fabulous team is a really exciting journey to be on.”

The company predominantly sees high demand from a male client base who are suffering male balding, however as the brand expands, demand has grown from other audiences substantially including women, children with permanent hair loss and members of the trans-gender community. Permanent hair loss can be devastating for any man or woman, and it can result in low confidence, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression.

A total of 17 trophies will be awarded, recognising excellence in various categories such as best team, outstanding customer care, and sustainability. Since its inception in 1999, HJ's British Hairdressing Business Awards have been synonymous with industry excellence, honouring pioneers like TONI&GUY, Electric Hairdressing, Lions Barber Collective, Colin McAndrew, and Casey Coleman.

Jayne Lewis-Orr, Executive Director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards, commented:

"The awards celebrate the talented and passionate teams and individuals who contribute to the greatness of British hairdressing. Once again, our judging panel faced an outstanding group of candidates. To make the shortlist for these categories, nominees need to demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to running a salon, as well as the results and reputation to back it up. The Novo Cabelo team should feel incredibly proud to have achieved that and finalised alongside such impressive talent.”

HJ's British Hairdressing Business Awards is not just an event; it's a testament to the dedication and passion driving the British hairdressing industry forward, and Novo Cabelo is leading the charge!
