A new housing development has been approved to deliver dozens of affordable bungalows in a former County Durham mining village.

Karbon Homes and Durham Aged Mineworkers’ Homes Association will build 42 detached and semi-detached bungalows on land west of Salters Lane in Trimdon Village, with support from planning consultancy Hedley Planning.

The project, backed by Homes England funding, aims to address the growing need for energy-efficient and affordable homes across the region.
