A new emergency service HQ in Durham will be built with more than 100 jobs set to move to the site.

The new facility will be built at the existing Durham Community Fire Station at Sniperley and will also house the North East Ambulance Service, creating a "blue light hub."

The two-and-a-half-storey building will be mainly office space and see the number of full-time roles increase from 33 to 139. Existing fire station facilities will remain.

The car park will be expanded by 20 spaces to hold 52 cars, adding four disabled and 12 cycle spaces, and creating a new access road.
