Sanctuary Knocker hotel opens in former Court Inn in Durham

A new luxury boutique hotel has opened in Durham city centre, offering guests a high-end stay with views of the iconic cathedral.
Sanctuary Knocker, on Court Lane, welcomed its first visitors on April 5 after a major refurbishment of the historic building, previously known as The Court Inn.
The upper floors of the former venue, closed since 2020, have been transformed into four themed suites inspired by destinations from around the world, based on the 19th century traveller William Holme.
