A new restaurant and bar is preparing to open in Consett, bringing viral Japanese "sandos" and evening tapas to the former Sambuca site on Victoria Road.


The Brit will open to friends and family this weekend - a special date as it marks owner Victoria Howe's first anniversary of her wedding.


Bookings are already being taken for Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1, both of which are fully booked, while the venue will also open from 5pm to 10pm on Sunday, August 2.
