A new lower-carbon waste management service is being rolled out in County Durham through a partnership between Hargreaves Logistics and Durham County Council, providing “much greener services to residents”.

The initiative features the introduction of Iveco Bio-CNG (compressed natural gas) vehicles, reducing carbon emissions by 80 per cent annually compared to diesel trucks.

Bio-CNG vehicles, powered by sustainable biogas, also significantly cut nitrogen oxide emissions, offering an environmentally friendly solution that is verified by the Department for Transport.
