A County Durham construction company has been appointed to bring forward infrastructure upgrades worth £6.7m at the International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP).

Esh Construction will widen the existing A1290 at the park, which is located to the north of the Nissan Motor Manufacturing Plant.

As one of the largest live schemes in the country, the park spans 370-acres and is expected to create more than 7,000 jobs in the next ten years.

The construction contract was awarded through NEPO and will be brought forward with IAMP LLP, a limited liability partnership established by South Tyneside Council and Sunderland City Council to promote and create IAMP.
