County Durham-based haulage specialists Katem Logistics have announced their support for local racing prodigy Thomas Potter (T.Pot), providing professional transport services for the young driver's race equipment and team.
This new partnership is more than a gesture of goodwill—it reflects Katem’s commitment to nurturing local talent and investing in the future of motorsport logistics. As part of the agreement, the company will ensure Thomas has the transport infrastructure required to compete at events across the UK.
The partnership was showcased at the Darlington Motorsport Show, where two of Katem’s newly acquired Renault flagship trucks were unveiled—one in metallic blue and the other wrapped in the distinctive branding of St. Cuthbert’s Hospice, a local charity the company proudly supports. The event offered a unique opportunity for the public to explore the trucks and meet Thomas and his sister, who displayed an impressive collection of trophies and invited local children to experience sitting in a go-kart.
John Davison, founder of Katem Logistics, recently celebrated his 90th birthday and remains a passionate advocate of hard work and dedication. His involvement on the day—engaging with families, helping children into go-karts, and sharing stories with Thomas about performance driving—highlighted the intergenerational bond being forged through this collaboration.
Thomas has spoken highly of the work ethic demonstrated by both John and Matty, one of Katem’s directors, calling it “a real source of motivation.” The mutual respect between the team and the young driver has laid the foundation for a partnership built on shared ambition and effort.
Katem’s support goes beyond simply transporting race gear—it’s a strategic relationship. Thomas is already looking at ways to give back, offering to assist with fleet maintenance and actively helping to raise Katem’s profile within the motorsport industry. He hopes this collaboration will open new commercial opportunities for the business, particularly in motorsport logistics.
“This isn’t a one-way deal,” Thomas commented. “I want to help grow Katem’s presence in the industry just as they’re helping me grow in my racing career.”
The partnership highlights the potential of aligning local enterprise with rising talent—delivering community impact while exploring new commercial frontiers.
